Who we are
Home Evolutions VA is in business to provide exterior home improvement services, mainly Windows, Roofing, Siding, 5” & 6” Gutters and Guards, and K-Guard Gutter Systems. We love our product lines and believe that they are of the highest quality. This is important because home improvement products and services are an investment in your home and typically, let’s be honest, are significant investments. We want our customers to feel confident in our products, services, and warranties that we provide. Yes, we are in business to make a profit, but we are willing to earn it with our commitment to excellence. The trouble is that many of our customers don’t understand or even fear the “price tag” that comes with home improvement services. There also is an uncertainty with regards to the entire process of lining up a contractor to do the necessary work or repairs. This can cause stress and anxiety going into the initial meeting with any home improvement company. We’d like to eliminate as much of this concern as we can by being up front with the way this process goes from the initial evaluation appointment to the final invoice.
Most customers set up their initial consultation by phone (434-525-0403) or via our website. We try to accommodate individual preferences and availability. Phone calls and web inquiries are handled by our courteous Customer Care Specialist who is able to answer any initial questions a customer might have. A time will be set up based on the customer’s needs and/or schedule. Easy enough. Occasionally jobs can be assessed remotely depending on the issue(s) the house is exhibiting and the products required, but typically homes need to be evaluated in person. Each job Home Evolutions VA does is considered custom due to each house as well as each set of circumstances being unique. Not to mention, with most of our products, we offer a variety of options and we strive to help customers make the best choices for their needs as well as their budget.
What to expect at the initial consultation
Once that appointment is set we will send out a “welcome” email with some basic information about our products as well as an appointment confirmation. We at Home Evolutions VA do NOT sell any customer information to a third party nor do we send the constant barrage of unsolicited emails that is so prevalent in our world today!
Our Product Specialists will arrive at every customer’s home on time. Occasionally circumstances arise, but never without a phone call updating the customer. Our Product Specialists are friendly and quite knowledgeable with regards to housing structures as well as our product line. With this being said the goal of each initial consultation is very basic:
- Evaluate and educate the customer on what’s happening with their home specifically.
- Educate the customer on the products and services that we offer that will rectify their issues.
- Come to an agreement with regards to a price that is fair to the customer based on the product(s) selected.
Once in the system, each project goes into the schedule phase. We try to adhere to each estimated installation time frame listed on our contracts and take that effort VERY seriously. Jobs are typically assigned in the order they’re contracted, but jobs can be grouped together based on proximity. This can move customers up the schedule, however, weather issues or material issues can cause delays. The point is, the estimated lead dates on a contract are just that – estimated.
We offer a straight-forward approach
Home Evolutions VA puts great effort into being “up front” with our customers. We never push products just to make an extra buck. In other words, if the customer needs a roof repair in a specific area of the house but the rest of the roof is in good shape, we won’t jump to a roof replacement recommendation. We’ll offer to repair the affected area(s). Our Product Specialists won’t push “leaf free” gutters if the home is in the middle of a field with no trees in the vicinity. Addressing customer needs honestly at a fair price is the foundation of a good customer service based relationship.
Unfortunately, underlying issues can be exposed as any project unfolds. So we would like to “uncover” some of the unknowns and be up front as far as how we approach these situations as they arise.
It can be said that one board on a house needing to be replaced will actually be two, if not, three. The first being the board that you can see the damage on, plus one or two beneath it that isn’t visible but also damaged. At Home Evolutions VA we are mindful of this concept, therefore we do everything within our power to anticipate this as we evaluate what is necessary in any given repair or upgrade. For instance, when replacing gutters (with any of our gutter systems) it’s impossible to assess exactly how much fascia rot or damage there could be on a home until the gutters and/or fascia wrap covering the fascia board is removed. Our product specialists are skilled at “reading’ the indicators at the time of the initial assessment. This information is offered to each customer, as needed, in an attempt to fully disclose the condition of a particular area of the home, in this example, the underlying fascia. If the extent of the damage cannot be determined at the point of the initial evaluation, we have to assess any repairs that may be needed at the time of the gutter installation. This allows us to address any additional repairs that may be needed accurately and fairly (no guesstimating). Photo documentation of any additional work needed is a strict policy and is freely available for customer clarification. We understand that unexpected work (or expense) is not good news. Our objective is to completely resolve any issues on the home as well as protect the warranties associated with the newly purchased product(s). We also understand that failure to do so opens the door for additional damage down the road, in this example rot, to further infect the area(s) in question. The cost to repair issues at a later time only goes up. Home Evolutions VA, as a business, is sustainable completely on the strength of our product line alone. These additional services are exactly that…services. When we finish a project we want our customers to feel secure that the job was done correctly, at a fair price, and that we will stand behind the entire project.
We attempt to minimize costs for unforeseen issues as much as possible
Hidden damage results primarily from previous work being improperly done. Be it by a previous contractor, handyman, the self proclaimed DIY expert, or the guy (as in “I know a guy”), unexpected damage can be exposed on any given project. Our installers are skilled and able to do most unexpected or hidden repairs at the time of the original product installation. By being prepared to execute these repairs, Home Evolutions VA can provide these services quickly and as inexpensively as possible. No rescheduling, no delays, no further time inconvenience!
Let’s be honest, prices matter to us. Most people, if not all, want to feel like anything we pay for to be worth the price. At Home Evolutions VA we feel the same way. From office supplies to materials needed to provide our services to the community we live in, we want every financial investment to be a wise one. If we, as a company, desire that for ourselves how can we not expect our clientele to feel the same way?
